Your body gets so used to it that you can’t live without it

When your body is absorbing vitamins, it isn’t able to distinguish its source and whether it is coming from a supplement or from food itself. You can take supplements for a long time and never get used to it, but it is important to stick to the recommended dose.. What can happen if you stop taking supplements is for example that you realize you had more energy whilst taking them, or had better immunity, more radiant skin and your cycle was more constant whilst you were taking the supplements regularly. This is a healthy incentive for our users to continue to take the vitamins and minerals our SUPS provide on a daily basis. The great news is that with the membership you have your new SUPS in stock every month.

You only need to take it in the winter

It is essential to get enough vitamins and minerals daily, but not just in the winter. With the exception of vitamin D, our body cannot produce vitamins itself. Our health and bodies take longer to recover when our health is compromised, and the absorption of vitamins, minerals and trace elements can take some time. When that happens, it is possible that your resistance is lagging behind for example when the flu season starts. These periods or circumstances in our lives that demand a lot from our bodies means that the consumption of nutrients needs to be higher. In times of stress, illness or recovery from illness for example, or also when lacking sleep, with heavy physical work and active sports but also with pregnancy, while breastfeeding or during holidays when we change our diets. It is also important that we realize that our fruit and vegetables are picked unripe and that the current agricultural land is extremely impoverished by intensive and chemical agriculture. As a result, our diet contains only a fraction of the vitamins and minerals we need every day. It is therefore valuable to take supplements all year round.

Your body cannot absorb supplements

It is always important to strive for a healthy intestinal flora. Good bacteria in our intestinal flora takes care of converting and absorbing nutrients from our food and supplements. It is advisable to choose a high-quality pre- and probiotics such as our ALIVE from SUPS to improve the absorption of these nutrients as this allows the vitamins and minerals to be absorbed into our blood and transported to our vital organs. Choose pure and bioactive ingredients so that your body can easily absorb them and so that fewer conversion processes have to take place. This will help your body save a lot of energy. Synthetic vitamins are difficult to absorb and they also burden the body. If you see a vitamin on the packaging (for example, only C, D, B12) and don’t see the natural substance from which it is made, then in many cases it is a synthetic vitamin. With a natural vitamin, it is always stated what it is made of. At SUPS we only use pure bioactive vitamins, minerals, trace elements and extracts from fruit and vegetables that are highly absorbable. (In addition, capsules and powders generally have little or no excipients and therefore as few unnecessary additives as possible.)

My stomach and intestines get upset and I get pimples when I take pills.

It is quite possible that when you start eliminating deficiencies in your body you will notice unpleasant reactions at first. This is part of restoring order to our cells and all processes throughout our body. These reactions will usually disappear. Some people who experience these reactions choose to stop taking vitamins and minerals. Even if the reactions are powerful, this choice is understandable, but you are missing an opportunity to repair, detoxify and build the body. However, if we want to achieve our health goals, it is still valuable to temporarily go through this unpleasant phase. The reactions will disappear and your body will once again be able to realize the effect of its self-healing capacity.

I cook every day and eat vegetables every day so I don’t need supplements.

The advantage of a high-quality supplement is that the dose of vitamins is much higher than our diet and our hidden hunger for essential nutrients such as vitamins and minerals must be satisfied. We do get enough calories, but not enough micronutrients. The famous physician and biochemistry pioneer and Nobel laureate Albert Szent-Györgyi summed it up this way: “A vitamin is a nutrient that, if you don’t get enough of it, can cause you to get sick.” Our Western diet is rich in empty calories, such as sugars and processed carbohydrates. They provide our body with energy, but not the right amount of vitamins and minerals. 200 mg of vitamin C in RISE, the multivitamin complex from SUPS, is equivalent to 5 oranges. It is not advisable to eat so many oranges because this can disturb our blood sugar and will get too high. A supplement is therefore a wonderful way to maintain our blood values and to protect us preventively against (chronic) diseases during various phases and situations in our lives.

I faithfully take my supplements every day, and my health is fine.

Taking supplements gives a sense of control but we encourage self-care. It is essential for a healthy body and mental resilience. In addition to taking your daily supplements consistently, ensure a healthy lifestyle. We aspire to a healthy diet with natural food that consists of lots of vegetables, fruit, herbs, wild fish, organic meat and nuts. Sufficient exercise, a healthy sleep rhythm, spending time in nature, reducing stress and time for reflection are an important part of our well-being. Supplements support us in our busy lives, prevent deficiencies and have an important preventive role in maintaining our energy and health.

It doesn’t matter when I take my supplements.

A supplement is not a substitute for a healthy meal. It is advisable to take your supplements with your meal, this enhances the absorption of vitamins and minerals. We call this form of cooperation synergy. Instead, we recommend taking our probiotics ALIVE before going to bed. After your dinner, it takes about 3 hours for your stomach to empty. That is a good time to take your probiotics because no digestive juices have been created in the stomach. They are very useful in digesting food, but the survival rate of the good bacteria in ALIVE is then reduced.

People with a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle need extra vitamin B12 through supplements.

If you follow a vegetarian diet (you do not consume meat and fish) or a vegan diet (you do not consume any animal products at all, such as meat, fish, egg, milk, cheese) then you do not get vitamin B12 through natural food sources. A deficiency can only cause complaints after months and can be easily remedied at an early stage. If vitamin B12 deficiency is not discovered in time, the symptoms can be irreversible. Symptoms that may indicate a deficiency of vitamin B12 are fatigue, anemia, palpitations, dizziness, headache, hair loss, menstrual complaints, forgetfulness and irritability.

Vitamin B12 is important for the production of red blood cells that transport oxygen through our body, nervous system, cognitive functions and our energy management and fertility and also reduces the risk of (repeated) miscarriages. It is advisable to take B12 daily through a supplement. RISE contains a highly absorbable active form of B12, methylcobalamin.
